Difficulty regulating sleeping pattern

I have had this problem for years, for some reason my bodies natural rhythm is to go to sleep sometime between 3-6 in the morning and get up sometime between 12-3 in the day, I have never despite trying been able to get into a decent pattern, I would love to be able to go to sleep around 10 and fall asleep sometime between 10-11 and get up between 7-8, when I do succeed at this it will last for a few days, max a week and then I will go to one night and no matter how tired I am I will not be able to sleep until after 3. It's really frustrating as by the time I get up half the day is gone, I have missed appointments, I have had poor attendance records in school and college over sleeping through alarms from being so tired. I just want to have a routine and try as I might it just won't work for me.

Have you tried any/all of the following?

    - Cutting out caffeine after 5pm?

    - Removing all tech things from your room ie laptop, tv etc (as you're in college it mightn't be possible so I'd recommend switching them off by 8pm and using the time before your desired bedtime to have a hot shower/bath, read, listen to music y'know, have some downtime!

    - Created a relaxing and inviting bedroom environment (nice sheets, dim lighting/candles, lavender scented things)?

    - Setting a loud alarm on your phone and leaving it at the other side of the room so you have to get up to turn it off? Also, put it on repeat every two minutes!
