After what was one of the scariest descents i ever had down the tourmalet a few weeks ago i now realize its time to change the brakes on my yellow training hack,
Im not to fussy about the make so long as they work 2nd hand would be fine
Has anyone got something that might suit or recommend something that would be cheap and effective please ?

Are you serious? You have had the means to get yourself and the bike to the Tourmalet, your brakes weren't up to it and you're still thinking cheap ............ have a look at 105 calipers (just over €60 from Rose for the pair http://www.rosebikes.com/article/shimano-105-brake-body-br-5700/aid:443952)

Treat yourself - your head will thank you.

That braking stuff is so overrated, especially on the Tourmalet :)

Swiss stop pads should sort it out.

I've a new set, came off a Sora bike. They're unbranded but of Sora Quality.
Dual Pivot, never used, €22 posted. Matt Silver with shiny bolts, black pads.
