How does one go about getting a tech job in Dublin if you're resident in Ireland? Do Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc use recruitment agencies or go about this directly using their own web presence?

Re: recruitment agencies for tech jobs - these are mostly concerned with contractors, right? E.g., Google contractors working on map updates in Eastpoint, etc. But who are the "hot" tech recuitment agencies if so?

Finally, is word of mouth and personal recommendation important as an entry mechanism? Or are we done with the "it's who you know" thang with these multinational firms?

Get involved in the community. Google/twitter/Facebook all advertise on their site not sure if they use recruiters. Also no such thing as a "hot" recruiter they're all the same :pac:

Also have an active GitHub and stack overflow and a personal site linking to these.

Is there a professional recruitment/headhunting agency approach anyone can recommend for higher aimers?
