Focus TDDI accelerator pedal sensor

The OH has a 2000 diesel Focus and recently the glow plug light has been flashing then going into limp mode. A quick turn off and on of the engine usually clears it but after trying to start it today it wouldn't go. Towing it in second and then releasing the clutch fired it but no throttle was happening at all. For someone not mechanically inclined, is it an easy fix to swap out the pedal for a new one?

Doesn't sound like a pedal fault. But I could be wrong. Get the codes read

Mechanic previously cleared a pedal sensor fault after flashing glow plugs and no power. Seems to be a common issue.

Would the pedal position sensor be the same as the throttle position sensor, if so it wont be at the pedal, but rather at the throttle body. You could try cleaning it first, just make sure it goes back in the proper position, don't force it
