Hi, I've a 1976 car on a ZV reg, I notice on the log book (in code j.4.) that it was previously 76Cxxxx. Does any one know if i can revert to the 76C reg if I contact the dept. of Transport? Cheers!

No can do. You can change from year/county to ZV, but not back IIRC.

the opinions expressed above have often been expressed here , carchaelogist is not so sure . I think he could change back (only my opinion) whereas if someone had imported a car and chose a zv they might not later change to 76 c, but this car had been 76 c, its still the same car.

my tuppence says he could change back

Definitely only one way, it says so on the form you use to change to a ZV in the first place.
