Rent allowance and Fas ( Advice please)

    Hi,

    I started a fas course this week. I have been on rent allownce now for two months. I was getting paid 188 from social welfare and am currently getting 188 from fas plus 10 euro travel allowance.

    My question is will my rent allowance stop? I am asking because my tutor said it has happend to people in past. I need to take a day off to visit CWO which will mean I am docked a days pay so thought Id come here first to ask to save me taking a day off.

    Your rent allowance won't stop.
    I did two FAS courses and received the same money as you and my RA wasn't stopped.

    I'm currently on a fas course, but I'm looking to get a new place. How do I apply Rent Allowance? Where do you start? Get a place 1st? Or get the allowance 1st and then find a place?
