    Hi All,

    Today i spent all day pulling up Ragwort with my hands and the help of a ragwort tool, (hands were handier!!!!)

    Is it me or is this job hardwork and exhausting, im knackered!!

    hope ya had gloves on, heard of a lad got a bad doing by getting the posion in to his blood through a cut in his hand

    yes, i was wearing gloves. wouldn't touch the stuff without gloves

    It's hardwork but, from old farmer's wisdom, easier, if you pull against the prevaling wind and when the moon is weak.

    The ground is too dry. That's why it's tough going. Wait till it gets wet, which is never that far away on our lovely Emerald Isle.

    I presume the small plants with no flowers are next years flowering plants? Could you spray these now as cows come out, not back for 30-40 days? Best spray to use? Have D50 + 24DEster, always mean to do it over winter but never do..

    Saw places this year that were swarming with cinnabar caterpillars (black and yellow stripy lads) ,they just strip ragwort , usually see them in a good summer, but I wonder if you could encourage them , or buy the eggs in a spray to take out big areas of ragwort ...
