    Hey,

I am hoping to take my TY Irish class to the Gaeltacht for a few days this year, I've never brought a group of students before and I am looking for advice on where to bring them. Any TY Coordinators or Irish teachers out there who can help me out? Uisce sent a brochure into the school has anyone ever gone with them?

    Míle Buíochas,

    N

The Irish teachers in my school brought ty and fifth years away in May. It was very successful by all accounts. I'll find out more information tomorrow and I'll get back to you!

not irish related but please please give parents loads/months of notice on this and be prepared that some may not be able to afford it. apart from that, if everyone gets to go to gaelteacht just once in their school lives i think it'd be great.

Usually these costs are outlined well in advance of TY starting so parents can plan if required or opt out.

agree with ^ but the OP mentioned taking the students away this year so looks like it might not be in the original costings for parents.

I'm planning it for next March/April and as soon as I get a place and a price I'm happy with I'll be letting the parents know. It will be an opt in trip, the whole year group won't be coming for several different reasons.

You could get them to flog soup or cakes or something to the other years to raise money towards it.
