Anyone had a look at or bought one of these?

They may fit the bill for the type of laptop I want - although as usual with clevo they never seem as nice looking as brand name counterparts..

    Full review here.

Not sure about the new one but the old 14" model is not a good laptop. The 15" version is much better, full HD IPS display and better battery life too.

based on specs alone I wasn't sure on the old one - but looks like they changed a lot (HD display/ better cooling/ better trackpad) - what makes you say the old one was so bad?

The old one also had a "HD display", which means at least 720p (768 horziontal lines in this case) whereas full HD is 1920x1080 and IPS technology makes all the difference (better colours, contrast and viewing angles).

Mostly reviews in the PC Specialist forum. The build quality wasn't great and it got rather hot. The 15" UltrNote came out 2 months later and got a much better reception.

Thanks. I sent an email asking if I can get an unbranded one. I've seen other resellers allowing this.
