It will wipe all personal details/installed apps/media but leave the OS.
It will restore the phone as it was when it left the factory but with any OS upgrades.

Thank you. Sorry is this phone rooted? Would that reset return it to the way it arrived yesterday?

On my HTC One (and on the Nexus 4 too), I could remove it without doing a reset. Go to Accounts, click on Google, then the Email address then menu and remove.

This doesn't have that option, I've seen a few videos on YouTube showing that but mine doesn't seem to have that option. This is ridiculous and very frustrating.

Guys if I factory reset it will it return it to the way it was when I got it yesterday? Please I'm not up to speed on all the jargon. Thank you

    Yes

When you factory reset it should go straight to the language selection screen that you saw when you turned it on...
