Kasparov - Short is the first I remember though I couldn't tell you anything about any of the games. Kramnik - Topalov a few years ago had interesting games but was spoilt by the toiletgate nonsense unfortunately.

The Kasparov-Karpov matches were pretty epic, and sadly the last of the great World Championship battles before Kasparov split off from FIDE. The title's been reunified since '06, and Anand has proven a worthy champion by defending his title in a number of matches, but I miss the longer matches and epic candidates tournaments of the 80s and before. Unfortunately, it seems these aren't financially viable these days.

This year's Candidates was pretty good. 8 player double round robin is a good format, reasonably long without having too big of a gap between top and bottom.

Garry Kasparov is my favourite player

I look at his games against Annand.

McDonnell vs LaBourdannais was great and featured an Irish player too!
