Citroen C4, central locking issue

Having problems with key fob of my C4 (06 4 door model) not working the central locking so have to use the key in the lock which is unfortunately only on the passenger door (Obviously never converted over locks when changing steering around). Just wondering is it possible to replace the existing remote central locking system with one I could buy myself. Reason being, Citroen want over €200 for replacement key and up to 10 days to get it and I can buy remote central locking kit with 2 remotes, actuators etc for less than €30. Any help please.

Have you checked the battery in the fob..?
Will the internal c/l (on dash) button lock/unlock the doors..?

if the battery is o.k then try this...
    1)Put key in ignition
2)Turn on the ignition while pressing the lock button on the fob and keep it pressed for 10-12 seconds.
3)Remove key and see if it locks/unlocks.

Thanks for the reply, new battery in the fob, yeah the internal switch for the central locking is working and I've tried unsuccessfully to do the resync several times

O.k. you could try this but "try this at your own risk"

    Peugeot/Citroen Remote fob Sync.

    Part 1
Lift Bonnet and prop up, open drivers window and leave open
Put Key in ignition and turn on ignition.
Turn off ignition and take key out whilst outside (through open drivers window)
Wait until mileage display goes out - Wait another 2 minutes
Disconnect positive on main battery (Bonnet is open!)
    Wait 5 minutes
Re-connect main battery (Leave bonnet up)
Turn sidelights on then off from outside of car through drivers window that had been left open. Do not open door.

    Part 2
Put key in ignition and turn ignition on, press lock button for 20 secs
Turn ignition off and remove key
Remote lock and remote alarm now work

Repeat Part 2 for second fob

Let us know how it goes..;)

Row, unfortunately this didn't work, thanks for the info though. So back to my initial question, is it possible to wire in new remote system, circa €30, replacing existing one instead of paying over €200 to the stealer.

    Not so sure..
Maybe its just the drivers doorlock that the fault.

Been a while since I've been on but meant to give an update, ended up buying a new key through a Polish guy who does auto electronics locally. Cost me €70 for new key including programming, so happy days. :D Original key electronics were full of corrosion, so thanks for all the help.
