Hi everyone so the horizon box came yesterday set yo everything the wifi signal is brilliant all over the house the only thing that won't connect to it is the brothers Xbox?

The router before was above his room in the attic now the horizon box is below his room in the sitting room but the signal bars are full strength really can't understand it.

Can't be the Xbox because its connecting to my personal hotspot off my phone no problem anybody have any idea what might be the problem?

I think I read on one of these threads that the encryption protocol may be the problem (i.e. whether it's WEP or WPA / WPA2 on the Horizon box). You could try changing this to see if it helps.

Alternatively, you might try a cheap pair of Powerline/Homeplug adaptors (use your home electrical wiring as wired networking). You should be able to find a 500Mbps pair for 40-50 euros, though how they work could depend on your wiring layout.

    Xbox works fine with Horizon.
    Set Wireless authentication to WPA.
Also, to use Xbox live enable UPnP on the advanced tab.

Type this address in your browser http://192.168.192.1 where you normally enter a website address.
Then enter username: admin and password : admin.

You then can change your Horizon settings.

Select "Wireless" from the tabs at the top of the screen and then select "Security" from the options on the left of the screen.

Change Wireless Security Mode to WPA-Personal.

If you are not used to changing these type of settings it might be worth getting a friend to help.

On the Xbox try forgetting / deleting your network connection and connect again from scratch.

crazy, as others have said set the encryption to wpa not wpa2 also set the frequency to 20mhz only, not 20/40 mhz, my issues with it were so bad I got a netgear N300 router and connected it for wireless as the "Horizon" team (people reading off a script) couldn't sort out my issues.

Now I've been using Xbox since it was released and I would never game over wireless it's just too slow another option is to use powerline, they're two plugs one beside the horizon box with a cable running to it and the other beside your bro's xbox, that'll sort and have less latency (lag) than the wireless.

Rang upc now today and they were able to sort it out she said to me on the phone the horizon boxes have a very high secruity and that's why it could not connect to it so she changed the ssid and password amd connected no problem.

    Thanks everyone for yer help.:)

It's the same as it always was wpa but when I rang she had to change something on her setting and gave us another wireless network name and a new password.
