Hi all, renting a house near Westport for a week from this weekend, couple and an 8 month old. Can anyone recommend any must see places? Also if anyone knows anywhere nice for lunch they can recommend either?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there FunkSoulSista,

I've moved your thread from Travel 'Things to do in' to the Mayo forum as it is localised.

    Thanks,

We had a lovely lunch on the main street in Westport ~ it is an art gallery as well as a cafe. You go down a lane and then up some stairs, can't remember the name of it but the homemade scones were lovely!
Westport House is nice for a wander around, walking the Greenway or maybe cycling but not sure with a toddler and there is a country life museum outside Castlebar. There is also a nice loop walk around Lough Lannagh lake which was enjoyable.

Welcome to Wesport, Hope you enjoy your stay,

there should be a sticky on top of this forum giving details of facilities in Westport,

The restaurant mentioned up thread is the Stone Gallery over McCormacks Victuallers Bridge St.

If cycling the Greenway you can hire a little carriage to tow behind a bike
