VRT/CO2 Emissions Calculator Incorrect

    Hi,

Looking at a car up north and am struggling to get a definite confirmation on the emissions for the car. The VRT calculation is putting it at 144 and the paid for full report from motorcheck.ie and a similar UK site are showing the car to be 139, abour €700 difference in registration. Do the nice VRT people accept this as sufficient documentary evidence that it falls in the lower tax bracket?

I have tried the sites they recommend with the UK plate currently on the car:

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency UK (DVLA)
    Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA)
Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)

it is not pulling up the data for the car. Does anybody know of a site that will give me the exact details of the emissions that the revenue people will accept? I think the VRT site is wrong at this stage but can't be sure they will accept what I provide, could really do without spending an extra €700

    Thanks,

    Muff.

V5 is the UK registration document that has the cars details on it. It lists the CO2 figure along with VIN number etc....

thanks, sorry, didn't realise this was another name for the logbook...I'll ask the dealer to check it out for me.

I'm guessing if this is what they go by the revenue site must be wrong as everything else says otherwise. I doubt somehow there's many instances of them getting it wrong with lower emissions. second time paying this, biggest con job on the planet...bending over and spreading my cheeks a second time.

co 2 values may relate to a particular alloy wheel size as well.

There were two different 140bhp TDi engine in the A4 of that vintage from the UK afaik. One is down as 138bhp and the other 143bhp, both with different emissions afaik. Revenue will use the figure that is on the registration document (V5).

Also if the car's V5 is lost then walk away otherwise you will have all sorts of problems trying to register and VRT the car down here.

Would the dealer not have this figured out already? He's hardly getting you to vrt it is he?

Its more than likely you just don't have the correct selection of model. It could be as simple as the model drop down being A4 2.0 TDI versus A4 2.0 if you try all the possibilities of audi A4 you should find a match, unless its something mad like a 3l quatro sline black edition. Just find the set of details that match your engine cc and co2 emissions

Bring documentation stating the lower Co2 emissions and they'll VRT the car on that.

Saved a few hundred on VRT for a jap import doing this. Mind you was pretty hard to find the documentation online.
