    thanks in advance.

There are free carparks at the old fire station, the bus station and Mell. I think the bus station and fire station fill up early but I have passed the one in Mell at 8.40 everyday for the past two weeks and there are always spaces left at that time, only 5/10 min walk to Shop St.

If you want nearer the port have a long stay carpark I think it might be €5 per day, the Laurence Centre have a good rate for all day parking too, I can't remember how much it is (I think its around €4 or €5).

Great stuff. I will check them out. Don't mind a bit of a walk from the car if necessary. Really appreciated.

On Google maps its on Trinity Street, I'm not sure where Trinity St. stops and Mell Starts, the shop opposite is called Mell Stores

This is the link to the car park on Google maps

According to Aldi, Trinity St goes the whole way up to the top of Mell
I would have always said it starts around Foley's pub.

I observed some cheeky parking gurriers yesterday...
I brought my wee man to the playground at St.Dominics Pk on Rathmullen Rd.
Playground empty bar ourselves, carpark almost 100% full?!
Now fair enough, some people might be parking up and going for a walk along the river.... but I did see a nurse hop into one car and drive off!

Why would a nurse park there though? I'm sure there's parking way closer to the hospital than the Rathmullen Rd, that's quite a trek if you ask me. Both the free car parks are much closer. She may have well been a mobile nurse/carer attending somebody living close by?

Parking is always going to be an issue, as long as people are made pay for parking they'll always look for the free option, be that in a childrens playground, in a housing estate close to town or on a footpath (outside St Mary's Church on the Dublin Rd is a prime example, they have to put signs out when there's funerals/weddings on to stop the parkers) And it's the same in every town and city countrywide. Put parking meters in and the free spaces become premium.

Well now.. she was wearing "medical scrubs" of some some sort...
could 'ave been a dental nurse perhaps??
    who knows? the plot thickens!
