boys secondary school recommendations?

My son is only in 3rd class but already im thinking ahead and looking into secondary schools..South Dublin area but willing to travel :)

What are your school preferences and can you narrow down the area a bit.

private/public?
boys/mixed etc...

Does he not get automatic entry to the local secondary school?

hes been in an all boys school so I dont mind it being mixed,he does get entry into the secondary school to the primary he is in now but I dont want to send him there

Try your best to get him into Bishop Galvins, beside St. Judes church at the Orwell Shopping Centre in Templeogue as soon as possible. This will give him an automatic entry into St. McDaras secondary school around the corner which is a great school that I would personally recommend.
