Pretty certain that unless you can find a lift, that its a few buses. Get to Letterkenny on Bus Eireann and then get this: http://www.mangantours.ie/routes.html and then call a taxi for the last few KM.

Mangan morning bus from Letterkenny at 9.30 from Mr Chippy in will drop you off at the pier.

John McGinley from Dublin will drop you in Falcarragh. Then its a taxi to the boat. You have a few hours to kill in Falcarragh that way but there is a few nice pubs there.

Getting to Falcarragh from Letterkenny you have a choice of John McGinley, Feda o Donnell and Mangans.

So cheapest way would probably be from Dublin with John McGinley, taxi from Falcarragh.

But its all about the same about 10-15 euro difference when everything is added up

Its been a few years since i got the bus, but john mcginley used to go from falcarragh to bunbeg through gortahork, ardsbeg, derryconner and past pobalscoil gaoth dobhai...if it still goes that way, you could nearly walk to the pier from derryconnor.

Regardless, it will still go through gortahork and getting off there puts you a lot closer to magheraroarty, so would save a few quid on a taxi.
