Help identifying vintage road bike !! ???

    Just bought it to turn into a project single speed but no idea what it is lol.

    Guy seemed to think it was a Raleigh, there is some sort of serial number on the rear dropout but thats it.

    Maybe some of you will recognize certain things that are typical of a particular brand ?

    It kinda reminds me of my first racing bike. It might be a Carlton...really looks familiar. Can't remember whatever happened to my bike, but if there is a dent in the top tube, left side, it could actually be it. Jeez wouldn't that be gas! Here's an old pic. Quality not great, it's from a scanned old photo. ...

    tbh Andy i wouldnt be surprised at all if it is a carlton, theres a hint of white paint with some sort of black decal under that red coat of paint !!!

    By the way do any of you know how i can figure out what bottom bracket to get for this frame ? Dont know how i go about working out what size i need and i wish i could so i could order one.

    I'll need to order a crankset too, the hardest part of the whole project lol !!
