Australian Forklift Licence Valid in Ireland?

    I have recently returned from down under after two years, I did a day course there and obtained my forklift licence in December 2011 and is valid for 5 years.

    I spend a lot of money getting this and it's much the same as Ireland. Would employers accept this as I think it crazy having to fork out more money on getting another one.

    I held a cert for a ride on power pallet truck which was still valid yet another company insisted that I retrain even though the training was completed here in Ireland,To be honest and speaking from experience(Transport industry) most companies requires a person to hold a licence in the country that they are resident.

    The answer to your question is that you will need to certified here, don't forget the training will be specific to the type of truck, (e.g. reach or counterbalanced).
