the above is way off so please ignore.

The course has been changed slightly to make it an easier walk.

It's a lovely course,a little bit open to the elements but some lovely holes.
There's a thread here somewhere about one of the holes, the 6th,it's a par 5 dog leg with a right angle.(only crap hole on the course)
My advise, hit a rescue or whatever gets you about 190 just right of the bunker is your line, then a wedge down to the left of the crapp on the right, then straight 6 -8 iron in.
I'm sure you will enjoy it,also, buy a strokesaver.

Great course, bit of a hike but the greens are brilliant. Short par 3 on the back nine, I've scratched it every time I've played it

Played it a few times, always in great nick, you will enjoy, I'd imagine there's HUGE run on the ball in that particular course, I've always scratched the 12th

    good course.
im not a fan of walls on holes so the par 5 mentioned above is the only black spot for me

Very pleasant course and not all that hilly. That par 5 is a bit of a lottery; you can shorten it a lot by going over the wall for your second but hard to judge how to stay in fairway.
On next one (par 3) take at least one and maybe two more clubs than you think you need. The bunker in front eats everything.

    Really nice course layout.

Have played it twice before & both times the rough was quite penal so there is definitely a premium on position off the tee.

You won't get away with bashing drives out like you would in grange castle.

I know they've re-routed some of the course to make it an easier walk, but plenty in our group still found it a hilly enough walk at times.

Oh & if you use a GPS makes sure it's up to date as mine got lost on part of the course towards the end of the front 9, presumably due to the course changes

Looks very nice with some interesting holes. Looking forward to the morning when we tee off at 09:00.

Hopefully the weather is decent with very little wind :D

Hey Macker, have played it numerous times.... you will enjoy it for sure.
However I believe the greens were forked & sanded last week, hopefully they are ok for tomorrow.

Nice course, big improvement with layout.

A couple of wacky holes, but every wacky hole in the world has an answer if you know it. The one that all give out about , is all irons for me now and go left if you have to - i know that now. It adds to the views on the course and the next 2 holes are very good holes.

The wind can make it very hard, The rough is real rough and your ball is lost if wide. But if wind is up and rain , a bit of a grueller. The wind on the ridge makes 2 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 ,very hard holes and the head can drop very early in your day.

    great greens, nice clubhouse .

Im not saying Id go out of my way to play the course. In the area id go to Carton House or Portarlington or The Curragh before it. But horses for courses.

Well got a smashing day weather wise and this only added to the fun playing the course. Had a lot of fun trying to pick out the line for some of the drives on some holes and even when well hit there still remained some danger on most holes. The right angle par five hole was badly played after a decent drive when I poorly hit my second OOB. As mafc said the greens had indeed been forked and sanded recently but to be fair they were quite decent. Have to say I was quite surprised how remote the course was and even more so when I pulled up at 08:30am I had to open the main gates myself after asking a green keeper who was mowing a nearby teebox was it alright to come in (we had booked in to tee off at 09:00am. The clubhouse wasn't opened till a chap arrived around 09:00am. Very few out on the course during the day whilst we were there.

Lovely course but would need to be a lot nearer home for a regular visit.
