    Hi

Would anyone be able to recommend a nice hotel or guesthouse on Koh Lanta for Christmas and New Year. We are going to be travelling around SE Asia for 3 months and are planning on spending Christmas and New Yr on Koh Lanta.
We are a couple in our late 20s. Our budget would ideally be 25euro per person per night maximum , but lower than that would be great.

We would like to be close enough to the night life but not right in the middle of it. Somewhere with a pool would be great.

Gotta give this place a plug. Run by a lovely Swedish couple, about 3 miles from the centre of Saladan (10 mins/€5 taxi). Dunno if you were looking for something fancier, but this place was really nice and chilled and great value (the breakfast is amazing). 300m through the trees to the Long Beach.

Koh Lanta is a fair bit quieter than Phi Phi — you know that, right? (since you mention nightlife...)

Thanks a million for the recommendation! It seems to be ranked no 8 of 79 hotels on Koh Lanta which is great (on Trip Advisor)!

Is there still a bit of nightlife on Koh Lanta?

I have been to Phi Phi before so I'm not looking for a crazy party scene this time. Just somewhere to relax for 10 days over Christmas and New Years, before travelling around a bit more. It would be nice if there were a couple of bars to choose from for a night or two out though?
From researching it a bit more it seems like Christmas is peak season, which might mean a couple of good nights out :)

We wanted somewhere quieter than Phi Phi and Koh Phangan to relax. Our next stop after Thailand is Malaysia so the ferry from Koh Lanta to Langkawi is what is making us choose Koh Lanta.
We would be happy to hear any other island recommendations though, or if a few nights in Krabi or anywhere else nearby would be recommended?

    Thanks!
