Although the cinema is the last place I'd like to watch the All Ireland Hurling Final myself, it might be great for parents to bring kids.

"The GAA have partnered with Odeon cinemas to screen the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior final between Cork and Clare on Sunday, September 8 at ODEON cinemas nationwide.
FREE tickets for this iconic Irish sporting occasion are now available to pre-order online"

    Offer in the following Cinemas;
    ODEON Blanchardstown
    ODEON Point Village
    ODEON Coolock
    ODEON Stillorgan
    ODEON Cavan
    ODEON Limerick
    ODEON Waterford
    ODEON Naas
    ODEON Newbridge
    ODEON Portlaoise

Not one cinema in either of the two participating counties!

I'm not sure that there is an Odeon in either county.

    Thanks OP.

I got my hands on tickets to the final of the football later in the month. Thanks again.

Is it being shown in High-Definition? Are there bars open at the cinemas?

No idea of the quality of the picture but I'd imagine it would be of a high quality. There wont be bars, this is being marketed as a family event! If you want to drink while watching it then the cinema isn't for you :)

Any tips on how to watch the All-Ireland final from abroad (Portugal/Spain)?
I've tried to organise a Sky subscription and box for them- but it hasn't been delivered yet and I want a back-up plan before Sunday.

Probably best off using a proxy & RTE Player?

None within at least 200km- its a rural area.

For arguments sake- if he was to try to get to Lisbon- are there Irish bars there showing the match- and where would I find details of them?
Google was not the most helpful, for once.

Trying to see about Aertv- will explore proxies a bit more later. I'd rather not go down this route- unless I absolutely have to- its my father- and hes not really into his tech, I can see myself trying to talk him through this- I'd like it as simple as possible.

Tickets for this event are free but a ticket is required to attend

YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR PAYMENT CARD DETAILS BUT NO CHARGE APPLIES!

Maybe its just the process they use. Put in fake details and see how it goes.
Have the football final tickets gone on sale yet or have I missed them?

They're showing the Hurling Final Replay as well in case anyone's interested [17:00 tomorrow Saturday].

Judging from the previous matches at the Odeon Cinema at the Point Village, it will be a broadcast of RTÉ2 HD and pre-booking won't be necessary. It will be free-seating and you'll be able to request a free ticket from the counter. If you want to pre-book anyway, here's the link.
