    Flipper dentures do tend to break, I am sure the dentist recommended other more permanent treatments at the time (chrome denture, bridge, implant etc), but at the end of the day dentists are reasonable people and I am sure they will sort you out.

    Remember its a bit of plastic that has to take all the force of your bite, that they work even for 6 months is a miracle.
