PAC applications

I was just wondering about people's experiences with the PAC system. I applied for a postgrad course late in the summer (July), and was told I was on a waiting list, which is fair enough. But the course has started and I haven't had anything back through the PAC or email, does this mean I don't have a place or might have…

Basically if you don't get a place do you receive word through the PAC system?
