Advanced Entry

    Hey guys,

I've got a quick question that someone may be able to answer about advanced entry into second year Commerce.

I'm currently starting a level 8 degree in business/commerce in another college and wish to move to my first choice NUIG in second year.

Do you know if you are required to have the necessary points for entry into the degree from the year before, 2013? I did not get enough points but understood from the NUIG transfer website that they were not required as they didn't mention them. I thought I just needed to get good results in my 1st year but admissions have said otherwise.

Can anyone who has been through this experience let me know what the situation is?

    Thanks!

I am fairly sure you need to have the original points for your course.

I got offered Advanced Entry into 2nd year TCD, in a course that required almost 100 more points than I got in the LC. I'm unsure how the process works in NUIG, but based on that, once the content of the two courses fits, and you keep your grades up (2.1 minimum) you've a great chance.

Keep an eye on when the application becomes available and sell yourself.

Stay focused! And good luck :)
