vtos/btea

So I've applied for both and had my btea approved but I've just heard today that my vtos has been sent to the welfare office as well. Does this mean it's been initially approved also or is being sent to be approved/denied?

I'd rather get the vtos as with the means testing on the btea we're only getting about 35euro a week (better than nothing but still tough to get by with). Does anyone know how the vtos process works at all and how likely I would be to actually get it? I'm from the UK origionally and GCSE's were my highest grade so I believe this is actually classed as lower than the LC. Am I right in thinking this?

I'm very much a control freak so sort of want to plan ahead for worst scenario :)

They put it on your payment from what you're currently on. So I got moved to JSA about 3 weeks back which was means tested. Went from 188 where we were scraping by to 35.

I just spoke to the VTOS section in the department - your payment for VTOS is not maxed up either. They changed BTEA and VTOS at the same time.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Great. Is that affecting people who have already applied though or just those who apply after Jan 2013? We've been a little bit messed around with the change from JSB/JSA as we're not married but still means tested together. Means we can't get any help tax wise either and if we're going to be on less I don't even know how we're going to manage sorting the 2nd year or even getting through the 1st.

Edit : Nevermind I've just remembered what year we're in. Bit silly to update that now in August when we're almost through the year.
