All depends on what cranks and wheelset you have, normally the chainline for a track bike should be around 42mm, unless it has cranks like Sugino Messengers which are converted road cranks and have a 45mm chainline. You need to try and keep your chainline within at most 5mm of whatever figure it is, or else your chain will wear faster and could possibly keep jumping off.

Rear hub is 42mm chainline (120mm wide, 18mm to the sproket)

The cranks are just generic track cranks as far as I can tell (no brand name on them).

What length BB should I be aiming for so? The old BB I just took out was 103mm wide, and chainline didn't seem to be a problem, but who am I to know!

I'd probably go with what was in it before if I was you then. Try and stay under 107 if it was a 103 in it before.

Then it's just really a case of finding a bb with that length spindle.
