Sunday morning, flicking through my phonebook to text a few mates to see what they are doing before and after the game and I come across Blackbelt! Good to see he is still making you all behave here as an admin :) Anyway, reminded me that I havent been on here in years so decided to pop in and say hello :) Anyone been here for the best part of a decade, I used to be Nalced_IRL but many years ago when Boards got hacked or something, not sure what but many lost their account including me so kinda lost touch. Anyway, something GAA related so this doesnt get deleted for not being relevant (looking at you Blackbelt!!) Game on Sunday was possibly one of the craziest I have been at in my life! Felt the whole way that if Dublin start taking their chances, it will come good for us and basically the subs came through brilliantly with others. Impact subs then....If they prove themselves over 10/20 mins should they be given a chance to start? Or do you go by the advantage they bring coming on when the opponents legs are getting tired. Obviously Im talking from a Dublin point of view but many counties have players coming in late that many would argue should start. Personally, I think an impact sub is a huge game changer. Again, from a Dublin point of view, starting someone like Kevin McM, he would not have the same impact and honestly think he tends to disappear in a game when started but once he has the legs on the defence late on, he can change everything. Just a thought :)

Depends on the individual really I guess. Some players are more suited to the role of an impact sub as in they are more affective when the game is alittle more stretched and space is easier to create they may also lack the fitness for 70 mins, then on the other side of it others need to settle into a game and grow into it and far more effective when started, IMO there is no right or wrong approach it is player dependent and all about getting the balance right.
