An Post website being blocked by my router

    Hi,

Odd question, but does anyone have any idea why my router would be intermittently blocking www.anpost.ie (I could access it this morning, but now can and this has happened several times in the past)?

When I'm connected to my router on either my PC (Windows 7, Kaspersky) or my iPhone 5 it will sometimes give me an error 324 Empty Response. If I disconnect from Wifi and access it on my 3G connection on my iPhone it works fine. My router is a Netgear DGN1000. I've checked and there are no sites blocked on the router. I have the latest firmware. Power cycling didn't seem to work, nor did changing the DNS server. I tried changing the MTU on the router and that didn't change it either.

It seems to be the only site I have a problem with. I don't think it can be Kaspersky as it happens on my iPhone too.

Any clever sorts know the answer?

    Cheers.

id sugest t get teh ip address when it responds
    ie
ping anpost.ie and take the address down and when you cant get to the site try pinging via IP then if it still fails. it could be an eircom DNS look up issue

I know that AnPost had issues yesterday with their routing through Eircom for all their websites (One Direct, Print Post etc.) so it could have been that on this occassion, they seem to have it resolved now.

Thanks everyone. It's happening again this morning. I tried pinging the address:

Pinging 159.134.187.15 with 32 bytes of data:
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 159.134.187.15:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

Is it likely to be an An Post/Eircom issue (in which case there's not much I can do)?

Looks like an eircom issue due to that tracert
