Recently got a diesel Saab 93. Lovely car. I have done various searches on how to install a USB port for playing music. Haven't had much luck in my search.
Also the stereo doesn't go to aux when I press the source button.
Can anyone help me out here, or point me in the right direction?
    Thanks.

What about swapping out the entire radio for one with a USB port?

Is that possible? The stereo in the Saab is built into it. It's fairly big too.

I can't speak for Saab as i've never owned one but on my own car it needed someone with the Diagnostics software to enable the Aux on the radio.

Then you'd be looking at something like a Dension kit (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Dension-GWL1MO1-Gateway-500-Lite-iPod-iPhone-Adaptor-BMW-Mercedes-Porsche-Saab-/170967389357?pt=US_Adapters&hash=item27ce7354ad) or some other form of adaptor to enable you to play songs from a USB.

On my car I got the Aux in enabled and have a cable that connects to the Aux in at the back of the radio at one end nad has a 3.5mm Jack on the other so I can plug into my mp3 player. This however requires the volume to be up very high on the radio in order to hear the music but is a cheaper alternative to the Dension systems or their like.

I fitted the OEM kit to our old Saab 9-3 which gives a 3.5mm input in the console/armrest - but I did have to get the (then) dealer to enable it via diagnostic iirc..........

Don't think there is USB option for that head unit, short of some other piece of hardware first.
