    Hi Guys,

Right now I enjoy street photography , particularly street portraits and just candid street moments. For this my Fuji X System is fantastic ... well with the latest firmware update for autofocus is a big improvement.
However I've also started doing landscape and just general portrait photography (I still shoot film with an old Nikon F Photomic and Tri-x 400 and HP5) so I love black and white landscape/portraits too.

Recently I was at a rodeo in Canada and brought my X Pro 1 with me 35mm, and 18-55. The lack of a good available telephoto bothered me. However, more importantly , the auto focusing and lack of proper continuous autofocus drove me bananas. Manual zone focusing was pointless as horses quickly darted forward and back, left and right. Autofocus on the camera panicked. So I ended up going to pure burst mode and hoping for the best.
Image quality is important to me, while I appreciate that anything full frame I can buy is more than adequate for a serious hobbyist given that the cameras cost quite a lot, I want to know I am getting great image quality bang for my buck.

My friend at the same Rodeo was shooting an old 1ds mark ii and was having a much easier time of it. He was also getting beautiful bokeh from his 85mm 1.8 for portraits. I shot a few pics with his camera and the results just looked incredible with this camera lens combo.

So I've decided that I would like to add a full frame digital to my kit as a general work horse. I am not professional but I don't mind spending money and getting something quality that will last me for a good few years. Being Ireland and the weather we get I wouldn't mind something weather sealed.

So... looking around I came across the a99 and some images shot with it on the 24-70 Zeiss glass. The 3d look from it is spectacular and the minolta like colours are beautiful.

Has anybody here any experience with this camera... I want to cover all of my bases outside of the standard 5d Mark iii, 6d, D600 and D800.
I'm more interested in stills than video so vid is very much down my list of priorities.
The flip out rear screen looks nice, and the in body image stabilisation looks interested.. 35mm 1.4 image stabilised anybody ;) .
Resolving power looks to be between the 5d and the D800, but with much better image quality than the 5d but not quite as good as the D800.
Battery life isn't as great, but I would be prepared to live with that. Dynamic range is supposed to be film rivaling at 14 stops , 2 and a half more than the canon.

Any opinions? I'm not married to any particular brand. Want objective opinions please, especially from those who own any of the aforementioned cameras and in particular those who have first hand tried the a99 and 24-70 zeiss combo.

    Thanks,
    r1_2010.
