    Hey Lucy,

I remember sitting both these exams in Dec 2010. Passed P2 and marginally failed P3. Basically I failed because I probably attempted 5 exam q's beforehand. A lot of P3 is just using your common sense, so a lot of exam question practice particulary with the compulsory questions should see you through. Definitely doable anyhow

To add to what crbel has said, P3 has a big syllabus but a lot of it is more common sense than technical knowledge. You do have to learn a number of different strategy models/theories so yo can apply them to questions. Sometimes they are asked for specifically and other times one or a number are implied by the question.

P2 and P3 as a combination is tough as both as they are arguably the most difficult two papers prior to the options and the exams are on consecutive days.

Found P3 a nice paper, passed first attempt self study without putting in too much time. P2 is far more difficult.

If time is an obstacle then passing both would be difficult especially if you have exemptions from the lower financial reporting paper...F7 I think!

I did F7 and was pretty good at that so I'm hoping it'll all come flooding back once I get stuck in !!

Now that I think of it, I used to work with a girl who did P3 and she actually left a question out when doing the exam and still passed so theres hope

With a good knowledge of F7 and P3 being not too bad a paper I say put the head down and you'll be grand! Best of luck!

Not very tough - very doable.

it is very doable but like any ACCA exam paper especially in the P's and if doing another subject- don't underestimate just because it is majority theory. There are a lot of models to get your head around and then apply to the question (not particularly hard to remember the theory but applying some of them can be tricky). Like all ACCA exam paper- time is probably going to be your biggest challenge. The case studies in P3 can be be very long- and you can spend a lot of time reading and planning answers. But like I said it is very doable and to be honest you'll kick yourself if you fail it.
