Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Lomax Recordings and the Public Domain

Hey guys, I'm working on a couple of short film projects at the minute and have been trying to find the 'sound' for one of them. There's a couple of songs from Lomax's archive that would be perfect, but it's really unclear whether or not they're in the public domain or not.

Could anyone clear this up for me?

I would say yes, in Europe most if not all of Alan Lomax's recordings are now in the public domain but you could always send a mail Smithsonian Folkways at:

    http://www.folkways.si.edu/

They should be able to advise.
