Taxing someones else's car for them

Can you tax someone else's car for them after it has been declared off road?

My girlfriend's car has been on the sidelines since January and now we want it back on the road.

We have the form stamped by the garda office but are not off work at the same time for me to drop her down. So can I go down by myself and pay for the tax on her car or does she have to be present??

    Cheers

I've often taxed my other halfs car in similar circumstances so I'm gonna say yes.

Yes, I'm usually roped into taxing every car here. Next one to do I think is in Oct, mine isn't out till Dec.

You'll know when I'm doing so as I usually rant on here while waiting :p

Once you have the cash and relevent docs filled in there is no problem.

If you like you can tax mine as a dry run

Yes, I too am the Minister for Transport around here, and before everything went on-line that meant standing in line like a gowl below in the tax office on behalf of everyone as well. ;)

    OP, tax away.
