Insulation below floor level

Hi all, just wanted to know if the insulation in a cavity should go below floor level. My builder is leaving a gap of about 150mm beneath the insulation, he says the damp will come up through it, although on the insulation pack instructions it says it should be in line with the underfloor insulation. Gonna be ringing the xtratherm rep tommorrow but just wanted to put it out there.

So he's taking a short cut, putting the first row of insulation on the wall ties, is there any truth to the fact you leave a gap for moisture. Judging by the pics in the graphic there didn't seem to be a gap.

Insulation should be complete all the way around the envelope otherwise you will end up with a cold bridge or worse

Do not let you builder proceed until you get advice on this

In the ACD that sinner has pointed you at we used Quinn so not only did the insulation form an almost complete envelope but we also reduced the cold bridge down through th internal wall to foundation

Get you engineer to approve this

A cold bridge at the perimeter wall to floor can cause mould
