Are PM not kind of like a recruitment agency of sorts?

    Ah right.

I'm working in Medical Devices now and there's a couple of lads here who are contractors and they got the job through PM. A while a go one left to be replaced by another guy from PM.

the lads are more than likely employed by PM and sub contracted out to your company.

To the best of my knowledge they're not. As far as I know they're contractors to my company and to do so have set up their own companies. They did get the job via PM.

At the moment I'm doing a lot of characterisation work i.e. testing of one of our devices. I'm only on a temporary contract here myself but I'm employed by the company.

Wish I was graduating this year would be going for some of these roles via their graduate programme.

Will have to hold tough till next year to apply, they have a very strong presence in cork, probably the no.1 employer I would be trying to get in with via graduate programme.

PM Group have at least as many engineers that are contractors working for them as they do staff. Typically the contractors are self employed with through their own companies but badged PM.
