Paying the repeat fee

I still owe the repeat fee (€190 i think) and was just wondering what the story is with paying, or not paying it. I finished final year, pending results which I believe are out on Friday.

I understand that if I haven't paid by Friday I won't be able to obtain my results, but is this a major issue? Will they just release my results whenever I settle the balance?

    Thanks

Once you pay your outstanding fees, assuming the deadline has passed, you'll receive access to your results within 24 hours or so. It's worth noting however that you can't graduate until you've been given your results, so you probably shouldn't delay too long since the conferring schedule will likely be prepared well ahead of time, so if you're not on it you won't be graduating with the rest of your class.

Ok thanks. Graduation isn't until October I think but I'm not too fussed about it anyway.

Be careful, I don't know if you'll officially pass the year if you don't pay. If you don't have the balance sorted by the time the exam board sits you won't pass and you'll have to register again next year. (i.e pay fees) . I'd get it paid ASAP if I were you. This isn't based on any first hand experience BTW but I would be very very careful if I were you.

This seems a bit extreme doesn't it?

It does seem extreme but not beyond the bounds of possibility. Are you a bit strapped for the cash at the moment?

No I just want to find out if I've passed or not. €195 to mark one essay for the first time is extortionate so I won't be paying it unless I know I've passed.

They're not going to release your results to you until you've paid. Be aware that they'll likely slap a €200 late payment fee on top of that eventually, and following that legal action if you still don't pay.
You agreed to abide by the rules of the university when you registered, so I'm afraid you have no way out of it.

You could possibly lodge a data protection request in order to retrieve your results, but if I recall you need to wait 60 days since exam results are subject to different rules.

Not officially no, but you can still ask your tutors/lecturers.

Probably if I took the piss with it, but I'd be paying early next week by the latest.

    LOL

You're overthinking it a bit here really.
