Thyroid Blood Results Ranges

    Hi

    Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to where I can get Irish Blood Test Ranges for Thyroid blood Test results. My blood results came back that my thyroid is underactive, it may be just borderline as I havent been prescribed meds, so I want to see without making huge issue with GP. I phoned for full results, got shock thyroid were off, all others fine, rang again to see if anything to be done, they were to phone back but havent. It was Friday :-) Two aunts had thyroid problems but I havent had chance to let GP know, dont want to sound like hypocondriac :-) ringing again!

    Hulahoop, the ranges vary from lab to lab so it depends where your bloods were done. Ask your GP for a copy of the report that he got from the hospital it should have the ranges on it. You are entitled to a copy of your blood results so don't be fobbed off. It's always better to have a copy anyway for future reference.

    Ok, thanks for that. I was looking online but it was getting confusing. I didnt realise labs varied in ranges, thought there would be some standardisation in these things :-)
