Job Offer put on hold???

    Hi guys,

    Got a job offer last week and actually started working this morning for them. Then, just got a phone call to say that all new vacancies is being put on hold due to a Employment Fair or something comming up, so for that reason all new vacancies are being put on hold for 3 weeks. Was told nothing to worry about,the job is mine and they will contact me in 3 weeks time...anybody that can put light on this...is this normal procedures...just curious,and bit dissapointed to be honest.Tahnk you for replies..

    Did you not sign a contract of employment before starting?

    Never heard of anything like this to be honest. How would them holding a jobs fair affect your starting date :confused:. Unless they want to train a whole group together? But still sounds very odd to me. What are you supposed to live on in the meantime??
