how to remove old sticker from heated rear window

I have an old car sticker on heated rear window i want to remove. Its very unsightly. Its so old its not sticky anymore and its gone brown and is brittle and cracking in places. I have tried wd40 to try to temove it. That didnt work. Is there any magic stuff that might remove it without damaging heating elements.

In my experience Tar & Glue remover will make life easier:)

If you can get your hands on a heat gun this will have the sticker softened and you'll have it removed in seconds with no mess left behind. A hairdryer is also useful but takes longer.
