The 2nd of 3 parts to my review of the Moscow World Champs for those interested. This part deals with the experience of being there to witness Rob Heffernan claim gold for Ireland, the immediate aftermath, the celebrations in the pub that evening along with the lack of major Irish media presence at the championships.

Great article! You've been a real champion of athletics on this forum for a few years now, its quite fitting that you were 50% of the Irish media presence on this historic occasion. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks. It was probably more along the lines of 25% as Will Downing and Dave Hooper were there also, doing more radio orientated work. There seemed to be one, maybe two others who would appear at various points. There was definitely one guy from the Belfast Telegraph, but I don't think he was there all week. But there was only 4 of us there throughout, at the athletics consistently.
