Just wondering if there are any operators doing tours of Dublin with helicopters? Want to book a space for 2 of us if possible.

    Any help appreciated.

Can't think of the name of the crowd, but there was a company doing a heli tour of dublin from weston airport with a meal on return. Think it was €99 per person. If you ring Weston they might be able to tell you the name. This was also before the new owners and restaurant went in, so may have changed!

just get the heli tour and avoid the meal at all costs
    http://www.heliservicesireland.ie/

they have a deal for €99 , and they run this in some of the deal websites , but if you call up and ask for this price they will sell it to you.
see you if can discount the truly awful meal from the price of the heli tour
    Have Fun

You do know the restaurant has been taken over, so maybe give the new guys a chance!

I also didn't find the old restaurant too bad really!

This was my tour of Dublin with Heliservices, great day out. Andy the pilot is a friend of mine and gives a great tour.

The vid isnt as shakey once I get sat down and belted in.

My missus kept her eyes closed for the whole flight, what a waste!!!

Have a look at their website first

    Where is the lunch held?
HeliServices Ireland are delighted to announce that in partnership with the renowned Award Winning Chef, Keith Kenny, owner of the fabulous La Banca restaurant, our after flight lunch will now be served in the exclusive Lucan Golf Club, located beneath the flight path of Weston Airport.

    thank you Pat Dunne,
yes we were promised a 2 course meal in Lucan golf club with this celebrity chef ,

and it was a load of ******

I would recommend asking for the deal at €99 and when they agree then ask for the discount as you won't be eating the meal.

On the plus side , Xpro Cienciano and Robble report excellent fare in the aerodromes cafe, and less expensive no doubt ;-)

    Enjoy the flight ,

Does anyone know whose AOC is being used for this operation?

A freind of mine did this trip two years ago from Weston. He highly recommended it and gave me a couple of pictures for use on the website.

Hey Wanderer you should put the overhead photo of Inchicore over on the Train and Rail systems thread and see who can identify the locos present.

I bought the €99 deal for my Father for his birthday along with my sisters. Must admit was not impressed. They changed their hanger from Weston and I didnt get views like Pat did. To my understanding we were going to get views over Dublin, Not Skerries/Rush/Swords and the M1 (Fingal). Nothing to see. Would have been cheaper to get return tickets to Europe and get the same views. Very Disappointing, can’t comprehend how that flight could be classed as "Helicopter Flight over Dublin" I believe it was false advertising. €396 for a nice lunch is the best comment I can give for this offer.

That is poor form. Where are they operating from now? I presume this is to do with Weston Owners acting the boll*x. I'm guessing they are based on the north side now which would make it tough to get over Dublin City due to having to cross the Dublin flight path. But this isn't your fault, if you paid for a flight over Dublin City you should have been informed before hand that it wasn't possible due to their new base location and offered a refund if you didn't want the flight over North County Dublin.

Yet another business that is going to be affected by the new Weston Owner!

Yeh Knocksedan Heliport now and you right but should I have known they wouldnt be able to fly over Dublin city from where they are now situated with crossing the flight path?

Oh is that where they operate now? Not the most ideal place to operate from If they want to get over the City!

I suppose not exactly new at this stage, probably been there over a year at this stage, but they don't seem to be making much friends - check out the Weston Airport thread for the full story.

No they should have informed you well before your flight that you won't be able to get across to the city. You should have been given the opportunity of a refund or accept the new route.

Absolutely mad about this change of departure. Live beside Weston and bought 4 vouchers for this. Research shows Heliservices moved to Swords in Feb2014. Pigsback did not advise voucher holders. I am determined to get a refund as this is false advertising. I am not prepared to trave 25 km to Swords to fly over the M1 and not Dublin city. I am awaiting reply from Pigsback.

After many emails to both Heliservices and Pigsback I eventually got my money refunded. Not a nice experience and would be very wary dealing with Pigsback again. I believe that all voucher holders should have been informed of change of Heliport and restaurant. Heliservices sell through many agents so beware. Found their return emails a bit shirty, however when buying these kind of services the consumer contract is with the voucher seller( in my case Pigsback).

It says on the site the price is 249 euro for the trip around dublin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 a.griffin-flood

Most of the voucher sites sell a 15 min flight with lunch for €99. Would expect a much longer flight for €249. After my experience I would certainly ask what route they are taking before paying any money. What I thought I had bought was a flight into the city from Weston not Swords to Rush/Skerries. Be careful.
