"The High Court is being asked to stop the Irish Turf Club conducting a disciplinary hearing against a jockey and a horse trainer.

Eddie O'Connell of Monasterevin, Co Kildare and James Lambe of Kilmore, Armagh are being investigated over allegedly suspicious betting patterns at a race in Downpatrick in September 2010.

The hearing into whether the two men were involved in a breach of the rules of racing is due to take place tomorrow."

    could be interesting!

Is it true the only reason they are looking at this is because one punter layed it to be placed for 10k in England

The only thing surprising about this is that they've picked up on this race, and not others.

Betfair are the ones who would have spotted the suspicious activity and reported it to the Irish Turf Club. They will have the account holders name and their betting activity. There has to be more to it than a random John Bull in England going a little crazy.
