Can the ps3 controller be used to play pc games?
And what drivers and programmes are required?
Was hoping to set up GTA for my son on his laptop but its a bit awkward using the keyboard.
    Thanks in advance lads.

You might have better luck in the Playstation forum :)

It is VERY hard to do, but achieve-able.

Not to a standard i was happy with but...

MotioninJoy is a program you can use but its very fickle. Also you might have to map the buttons to the controller.. which sucks balls.

Also, The MotioninJoy program installs mouse drivers and bluetooth drivers on your PC that most definitely will interfere with any mouses/bluetooth devices you have synched already!

I tried it and hated it so i deleted but you can try if you want.

Also found out later that the program uploads data to some chinese IP server? Not sure if true but i'd stay away from it to be sure.

Well i gave motionjoy a go,reasonably easy to set-up but as was said the controls are a bit arseways.
My son was happy enough to play gta on the pc for a few hours.
Going to try an alternative over the next few days, dont like the idea of communicating with the chinese servers.
    Thanks lads.

Ah crap. I was just about to post to NOT use MotionJoy, I've read before that it's just full of malware.

I had no problem with it and all Bluetooth devices worked fine. No malware detected.

Had a quick look for other options but the same thing keeps popping up MotionJoy

If you reckon he'll use it for more than one game get an xbox controller, they're 20 quid and nearly all games are straight forward plug and play. None of that messing around with third party software.
