Apologies if this is the wrong forum

Just enquired there about about setting up with UPC. There's no call out required as most of the equipment is already available in the premises but they want to charge me 90e for the equipment that they do send out to me by post initially. It will be 66e after this per month for relatively basic broadband & Cable. sounds excessive doesnt it?

Sign up online and you won't get done for the 90 quid.IF you do it over the phone they charge a 90 quid connection fee. But of course they don't that mention on the phone. Think they are still running the 50 for the first six months too online. SO yeah online is the way to go.

Sound, Cheers for that but the rep. I was speaking to over the phone kept mentioning the cost of the equipement & didnt really say anything about a connection fee?

Don't trust the reps, they can call it whatever they like but you won't get charged for it if you do it online. I am 90 notes lighter because I trusted the reps. Price it fully online at least but I just checked on the website there and there is no 90 euro fee, connection or equipment.

thanks but I just got an email from there saying they couldnt process my application online because im not in an area that does 50mb broadband, im in an area that only has 30mb broadband, I have to pay the 45e connection fee. They're unbelievable, im getting less broadband speed but more of a charge

Can you not judt sign up to the 50 mb foe cheaper and just accept that you'll only get 30? I dunno if that's possible from a technical point of view.

Well, yes, I did initially but then I got an email back from them an hour later saying because I'm in an area that only has 30mb broadband, that the offer no longer applies & I am liable for the 90e start up fee. After this I called them & was informed by one of their reps. that they could reduce the charge to 45e but it would still apply to my account despite arguing with them about the ridiculousness of the situation. He informed me that they were covered legally because the offer only applied for areas with 50 mb broadband. Absolute joke
