    Hi all

Wife considering applying for a CE scheme in a play school.

Can anyone tell me what happens during summer and other holidays? Do you still get paid?

    Thanks

Generally on a CE scheme you get 10 days paid holidays per year which can work out at 4 weeks because if you do 2 and a half days per week or 5 half days per week.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Thanks for your reply, if my wife works at the play school they have the whole summer off just like the schools, not to mention Easter and Christmas.

My question was more focused on would she still be paid or would she have to sign on the dole whilst she was off.

I think you'll find that they have to work time up over the 19.5hrs required per week to cover any week(s) off that they might get.

You get all bank holidays off or if have to work will get time in lieu, depends on type of scheme your on.

She wont have to go back on the dole, it doesn't work that way.

Generally the basic €208 is just paid week to week throughout the year.

81hrs paid Holiday leave which at 19.5hrs pw works out at 4 week, if your working a 5 day week every week, rather than some other arrangement, like for instance a week on and a week off, or a 4 day or 3 day a week arrangement.
