Science Modules Problem

Ive accepted an offer for DN200 science and have been trying to finish the registration process but am having problems picking my modules. Ive selected the chemistry stream, the medicinal chemistry and chemical biology, and the biological, biomedical, and biomolecular stream.

Thats all fine but then when I go to register my core modules it tells me that I need to take BIOL00010 Fundamentals of Biology because I did not do biology for leaving cert. Apparently i need to do this module in order to continue with any other biology module. However this module BIOL00010 is full. I have no idea what to do now because it appears that if i cannot do this particular module i cant do the rest of the biology modules and therefore ultimately cant get to my preferred degree from the course medicinal chemistry which requires several biology modules to be completed.

I would really appreciate any help with this because i feel as if my options for degrees is already being cut short because i cant do one module in first year.

Ring 'em up. Explain the case. Science programme office are sound, they might be able to sort something out for you.

Though this is late, it looked like they planned to release more places to this module at 3pm. Hopefully you managed to get it

For future reference the usually post the places due to release here. They may not post what you want, but if they do its nice to know in advance.

Glad you got your place :) If there are any more problems during the week with registration or anything don't worry about it and go to the science programme office in the chem building. They're really helpful and even if you didn't get your place in a compulsory module like that one they would have been able to force the system to let you attend or sort it out. The only modules you can't force your way into are electives but something as important to your degree as that module you'll always have it sorted for you! Good luck with the chem/med chem side of things, good choice :P
