    Hi All
Recently ordered an Android phone from avendor on Aliexpress
They sent out the wrong model of the phone - 1.2Ghz instead of advertised 1.5Ghz (not sure if deliberate or accident)

They have offered me $10 in compensation this was through e-mail correspondence - which i am not happy with...

In my last mail i told them that i wanted to ship the device back to them for a refund... Still awaiting a reply on that mail.

    So my questions:
    1. Should i open a dispute before sending the phone back?
Or do we just correspond privately and send the phone back via that correspondence?
I am guessing if i don't open the dispute - that i have no come back?

Also i believe that they should refund me the full shipping costs as it was their fault... so i presume the only way to to recover all my costs is via a dispute?

    2. What is the quickest and most cost effective way to send the phone back to china?

    Thanks in Advance

Open a dispute right away and see what they recommend.

I tried to buy a pair of boots. From what my experience, all I can say is that if things go wrong and the seller wants to raise the price after you purchased, or decides to send you something else YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF OUTRAGEOUSLY ON YOUR OWN.
Customer service will only stall, opening a complaint is just as good as doing nothing and you are on your own. I have read happy stories as well as many stories of people still claiming refunds. I'm not risking it again.

If you paid outside of the Ali Express escrow system, I'm not sure they'll entertain any dispute as they take their cut out of the payments through that method.
