For those that dont know, TURAS Bikes are an Irish company whom design and manufacture (abroad) a range of carbon fibre bike frames, they also build these frames up to customer specification (here in Ireland) for sale all around the world. But they are moving too the retail market instead of online sale. The Nicholas Roache performance team rides the TURAS RR1.0 frame and this frame is prooving to be a top class race prooven product.

But they are changing their models to newly designed ones and I want to know youre opinions on these, I personally prefer the RR1.0 Frame to their new model.

Here are the pictures of thier new frames via their facebook page.

It's okay, I'll just tell PayPal we're ordering them for the next Evil 200 and we'll have them in a weeks time.

What price are they anyway, the last set of frames had some high end price tags for what they are infairness

That Vitus Frame did well for riders in Tour of Britain and the RAS no doubt competing with riders on frames costing multiples.

i dont like being negative when it comes to a blossoming rish brand who got their promotion spot on however ive issues with the brand.

See those "handbuilt in ireland" stickers? questioned that on their FB page before and they just deleted the comment which proves theyre wrong. what they mean is "assembled in ireland" any frame that says hand built in ireland would be assumed meaning that the structure of the frames is laid up in ireland.

have also heard first hand major problems with drainage holes and the internal cabling getting stuck as a result which means when trying to pull the cable out the frame ends up getting nicked badly.

I also later got abuse off the fb page guy for simply asking why it said handbuilt in ireland. the question when originally posted was not interrogating, merely posing the question what in actual fact they meant.

Could go on for a while but to mean seem like the frames are cheap carbon and something like a yishun frame with custom decals will work out at half the price with, from what i can see better reliability.

I really dont like having a go but just cant see it as a good bike. even the fine details lets say for example the way on decals of green/blk color. the word carbon blocked by the braze clamp looks unprofessional and the word 'carbon' without stating a weave pattern or without anything written like high modulus (or even the word fiber) looks cheap...

    ...just an opinion/..

God is here to smight the evil back to hell...
Ya your right ive learned that since aswell, the Nicholas Roache Performance Team is said to have returned a few frames with carbon sawed(cut) by the cabels. There were frames in their office in very poor condition, i hinted towards them but he just said "ya theyre bad alri".

And to add to the dissapointment the vitus frame they have only takes electric groupsets like di2. But the blue frame is the same as the last and probably better.

As for made in Ireland its like a chat up line for them, they havent thought about marketing atall.

I have an rr2.0 for touring and its fine because it has outer cabelling and really beefy bottom bracket, forks actually its a beefy frame and i like having Ireland written on it. Shes put in a few 120-140km journeys notabother on it. But i got it cheap.

NRPT have sent back more than "just a few"

Anyway from here, it seems theyre far from clued in and quite snakey if thats the right word to use...
